![]() ![]() Learn how to combine buttons so that I can use that knowledge with any game in the future. That's not a valid solution for me I'm afraid. What you did was use both R2 and L2 for sidestep. Leave Start Button -which I never used to pause the game, I used Select instead, I don't care about time statistics- to use it for screenshots. Play the game with the same controls of the psx version, that is, L2 for flare and R2+Left/Right for sidestep. I wonder why nobody has never thought about that or asked for that. That would give you double the buttons to control everything. It would be such and advantage to be able to combine, let´s say, L1, with the rest of the buttons. Imagine I'd like to play a flight simulator game with the Rumblepad II gamepad (second picture). R2+left/right = sidestep), that is, just the way it was on psx, the way I remember it, and the way I want to play it. I can't see how I can use either Xpadder/Joy2key or the ingame joypad support in TR2 to map the controls like the psx version (i.e. I should explain myself better but my English is becoming rusty. so she walks rather than runs as default.ĪFAIK all Lara's secondary moves appropriate to each game work too, I think it should be possible to swap Walk/Run if you should want to ie. There's no toggle option so you have hold down or Walk, Look etc but that was how it was on the PS too so no biggie. 元/R3: usually unused but as said defaulted to sidestep, at least in TR4 (TBH never checked them in TR2/3). R1 (R top shoulder button): Hold to Walk. L1 (L top shoulder button): Hold to Look (use Movement controls). R2 (R bottom shoulder button): Step Right. ![]() L2 (L bottom shoulder button): Step Left. Using the d-pad is more authentic for TR2 but the analogue stick control is fine and for all the games except TR1 is noticeably superior to the horrible PS analogue control).ĭraw Weapon: Triangle (right thumb top button). Movement = Default (with the Dualshock you can switch between d-pad and analogue stick control using the switch it has. This is the mapping I use with a PS Dualshock for TR2/Golden Mask and, modified to include Crawl/Duck and Sprint, for TR3/TLA:. I played the Times Exclusive TR4 Level using them for this purpose. I think in the default set up they're used as alternative additional L/R Side Step. BTW don't forget the hat buttons (on both sticks) may still work if you don't have as many other buttons as a PS Dualshock. You don't need Xpadder or Joy2Key at all.Ībout the only thing unavailable is Right Analogue Stick control (used for Look in TR3 >). With a PS Dualshock or similar + basic USB adapter TR2-TR4 and, I assume,TR5 can be mapped very well (in some ways better than the PSOne configuration) just using the in-game joypad support. I don't get why you think you have any sort of mapping problem unless your particular gamepad is short of buttons. ![]()
